The year 10 pupils visited Glasbury House in Wales for a week of canoeing and rock climbing. They were graded in activites and achieved some fantastic results which will contribute towards their final PE GCSE grade.

During the summer term, a group of 12 year 7 pupils were chosen to take a leadership award. This involved learning how to organise simple sporting activities and to deliver them with clear instructions, confidence and enthusiasm. The young leaders were involved in a year 2 athletics competition, a year 5 athletics competition at Valentines and the Partnership festival at Redbridge Sports Centre. 9 pupils passed the award so very well done to them.

S.S.C.O NEWS
Valentines High School is part of a family of schools. The 4 schools in our family are, Uphall Primary, Cleveland Infants, Cleveland Juniors and Christchurch Primary.
All of these schools have been involved in a Virtual Multi Skills competition this term, which involves developing the skills of balance, agility, speed, aiming and co-ordination.
Pupils from years 2,3 and 4 have enjoyed extra P.E lessons to prepare for this and hopefully some classes will win the competition!

SPORTS AMBASSADORS
Throughout the borough, each secondary school has 2 year 12 and 2 year 11 sports ambassadors. At Valentines, Tyrone Francis and Anuj Damania continue to be representatives in year 12 and the 2 new ambassadors from year 11 are Kate Wilks and Akshay Bassan.
They are involved in representing the school at sporting events in Redbridge and also promoting and encouraging sport at Valentines.
Kate has been further selected to be a Young Ambassador along with 2 other students from the whole borough and is taking a leading role in this position.
Congratulations to all, and especially Kate, on achieving these roles.
